IB programme launched officially at SBA
Another landmark in the history of SBA was witnessed on
1 July 2009. It was realisation of a dream, a dream for
which lot of planning, focus and industriousness has been
invested. The day marked the culmination of all the hard
work with the IB programme being launched officially.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers superior
quality programmes of international education to a global
community of schools. The programme was formally set
in motion with a prayer ceremony. The choir invoked
the blessings of god by singing the hymn Showers
of Blessings.
The occasion was graced by our principal Mr. Santanu
Das and CFO Mrs. Vani Pratap. Mr. Das's words were indeed
thought-provoking and emphasised on the importance of
being in the IB programme a programme noted for
high standards and pedagogical leadership.
Mrs. Pratap spoke about the relevance of Swami Vivekanandas
ideas to the IB programme and Mr. V. Prasad read a few
inspiring poems by Emily Dickinson.
The IB co-coordinator concluded the programme by urging
the students to stay focused and wishing them all the
best in their future endeavours.
